IT service management and customer service support software developer SysAid Technologies introduced an Education Edition of its IT Service Management Suite this week. The new edition is geared toward VARs and channel pros servicing K-20 education institutions.SysAid Angles Itself for the Education Market

The Education IT Edition is built using a modular approach. It is designed to help IT administrators streamline and automate all IT processes and save time managing their helpdesk and asset inventories.

“The new Education Edition is specially tailored to meet the needs of the education sector,” explains SysAid CEO Israel Lifshitz. “The education sector is one of SysAid’s most important vertical markets.”

According to SysAid, more than 450 new educational institutions have started using the SysAid platform since January 2010. “Over the past month alone, 26 new institutions have selected SysAid’s IT solution, including: The University of Kansas, Apache County Schools in Arizona, the Gateway Unified School District in California, Sacramento City College, and others,” states a recent press release from the software company.

The new Education Edition is designed with academic environments in mind, providing administrators with tools for managing IT infrastructure, tracking hardware and software, and automating service request history.

Features of the IT Service Management Suite include Manager Dashboard and Reporting, Live Chat, ITIL Change/Problem Management, Password Reset Services, and Remote Control. A mobile application also enables administrators to manage the help desk and inventory on the go, from all leading mobile platforms, as well as the iPad 1 & 2 and all tablets running on Android, Blackberry, and Windows 7.
