Mobile solutions innovator Stratix Corp. announced this week that its mobile Field Sales and Field Service applications are now optimized to run on the Toughbook U1 handheld replacement computer from Panasonic Solutions Company.
The Stratix Mobile software solution is designed for field sales and field service professionals. The application is designed to deliver complete account information to mobile workers in real time. It confers information about electronic order fulfillment, inventory management, pricing, and promotions.
Panasonic’s Toughbook U1 is a rugged handheld replacement computer that runs a full Windows OS. It is powered by an Intel Atom processor. In essence, the device combines the mobility of a traditional handheld device with the functionality of a full laptop. It offers a host of integrated features, including GPS, barcode scanner, RFID reader, camera, and 3G mobile broadband.
In addition, the Toughbook U1 is certified by an independent third-party test lab to meet MIL-STD-810G and IP65 standards for environmental conditions. The device can withstand a drop of 6 feet and its fanless design keeps out water and dust while reducing weight.
According to Chris Koterski, vice president of solution delivery for Stratix, the mobile application was altered slightly to “take advantage of the features of the Toughbook U1.” For one thing, the Field Sales and Field Service applications were made to leverage the larger screen footprint of the Toughbook U1.
“Our customers want access to more information without having to scroll through screens,” Koterski adds. “The design of the Toughbook U1 allows us to give our customers the solution they are looking for.”
The Toughbook U1 is available in the United States from authorized Panasonic resellers and distributors. Stratix Mobile, optimized to run on the Toughbook U1, is available from Stratix.
