Palisade Systems Launches Data Loss Prevention SaaS for SMBs
ComplianceSafe service is officially launched. The service monitors data leaving an SMB via email and regulates what information will be permitted to leave.
Palisade Systems announced the official launch of its ComplianceSafe data loss prevention product for SMBs last week. ComplianceSafe runs as a service, like Facebook or Web mail, and protects SMBs against inadvertent disclosure of private or sensitive data that can occur through outbound e-mail data leaks.
ComplianceSafe controls the flow of confidential information in outbound email messages. The service monitors data leaving the premises via email and regulates information flowing outward. Such controlled information could be social security numbers, credit card numbers, patient health information, or something else.
According to Palisade Systems, data leaks are represent serious liabilities for SMBs. “Small businesses are governed by the same federal and state regulations and business rules as large enterprises,” states Palisade in a press release to EH Publishing. “Violating these rules can damage reputation, cost business, and result in massive fines to small businesses.”
“There was an entire market segment locked out of data loss prevention services because of price and a complex implementation process favored enterprise organizations with IT departments,” says Palisade Systems CEO Christian Renaud. “ComplianceSafe delivers a SaaS solution that makes meeting regulatory requirements as easy as managing a Facebook account.”
In order to sign up for the ComplianceSafe service, administrators would visit the ComplianceSafe Web site, point an SMB’s outbound email to the ComplianceSafe servers, and follow the setup wizards to define the ways in which confidential information should be handled (blocking, notifications, etc.).
