Napatech is aiming its new 2x10G NT20E2 Capture and NT20E2 In-Line adapters right at MSPs. The company says Internet and IP networks have become “the foundation for a vast array of commercial services,” and monitoring these services has become “a top priority.”
Napatech Releases New Capture and In-Line Adapters

The NT20E2 network adapters are based on PCI-Express Gen 2 and are designed for use in any standard PC server. This enables OEMs to build high-performance appliances based on off-the-shelf hardware.

According to Napatech, the network analysis adapters are also capable of receiving and transmitting up to 30 million packets per second with zero packet loss.

The NT20E2 Capture adapter is designed for OEM vendors of network monitoring and analysis systems (as well as other vendors in need of capturing up to 20 Gbps of traffic). The data traffic is provided by network taps or SPAN ports on switches and routers.

Captured traffic can be recorded to disk and replayed using the NT20E2 Capture for forensic analysis. The NT20E2 Capture also includes hardware time-stamping of packets on both reception and transmission with support for time synchronization to GPS, CDMA, and IEEE1588v2 time sources.

The NT20E2 In-line adapter, on the other hand, is designed for “bump-in-the-wire” applications, which require low latency as well as full 20 Gbps wire-speed reception and transmission. The NT20E2 In-line adapter is ideal for such network security applications as IPS and policy enforcement.
