Autotask Partners with OWN for Email Server Protection

With the Own Web Now’s ExchangeDefender addition, Autotask clients can use a single Command Center dashboard to manage and track all network security services.

Service management software developer Autotask Corp. has established a partnership with Own Web Now (OWN), developer of managed network security service ExchangeDefendAutotask Partners with OWN for E-Mail Server Protectioner.

The ExchangeDefender solution will be integrated into Autotask’s Command Center to help protect email servers.

In a recent press release, Autotask states that it can now offer its customers “an incomparable productivity advantage through ExchangeDefender.”

With the ExchangeDefender addition, Autotask clients can use a single Command Center dashboard to manage and track all network security services. A real-time, secure API connection ties Autotask’s central knowledge base directly into ExchangeDefender’s online management tool for seamless data exchange. As a result, users will be able to immediately report and respond to service tickets and track critical security data. They will also be able to maintain tracking and billing of licenses on all installed products from one source.

Once installed, ExchangeDefender can be tailored to a SMB’s email system. It works with Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, Novell Groupwise, or most any other SMTP mail server. Like Autotask, ExchangeDefender runs off set policies to secure end clients’ email servers from viruses, malware, adware, and other threats.

When installing ExchangeDefender, Autotask customers can choose to use OWN’s full array of free support resources, or pay a one-time flat fee to have OWN install the solution for them.

OWN president Vlad Mazek says his company will support Autotask customers. “We offer a full concierge service covering the deployment, configuration, testing, and ongoing maintenance of our ExchangeDefender software,” he says. Our network security services are built around the way MSPs operate their businesses and use security services as a way to expand and grow their managed services practice.”

“Autotask’s Command Center represents the future of how managed services will be managed and deployed in our industry,” says Autotask CEO Bob Godgart.† “As a savvy managed services player, Vlad [Mazek] jumped at the chance to use our hosted PSA cloud to create a service advantage like none other.”

Godgart adds that Autotask will soon partner with a number of companies in “building more managed services and service advantages delivered from the cloud.”

Autotask’s advanced “Command Center” integration with OWN enables:

  • Automatic integration of ExchangeDefender subscribers with Autotask
  • Immediate tracking of new and/or changed network security contracts and service-level agreements
  • Management of OWN service requests and tickets
  • Workflow rules establishment for more easily managed technicians and team members
  • Elimination of costly duplication without sacrificing privacy or data security
