CNG’s SAFE App Gets Win7 Upgrade
Shared Access Filing Environment software sees latest version, enabling SMBs to continue managing paperless documents and workflow amid OS refresh.
Cabinet NG, provider of document management and workflow software, is launching a new version of its CNG-SAFE application.†
The new version, V. 6.2.1.2410, works with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. It offers enhanced security as well as improved interface and reliability features.
Cabinet NG (CNG) designed its Shared Access Filing Environment (SAFE) to move manual paper-based processes into efficient electronic workflows, with the goal of increasing productivity for SMBs, reducing paper consumption, and saving money.
Targeting the needs and budgets of SMBs, CNG says its SAFE application “helps meet compliance requirements and provides a way to achieve a scalable paperless office.”
CNG-SAFE only required a few changes to support Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2. In press release, CNG says the changes will “serve as a new base level for future enhancements, keeping CNG-SAFE in lockstep with the latest Microsoft technology.”
“With this latest product version, SMBs can now realize the many distinct advantages that CNG offers its customers,” states CNG in a recent press release.
“CNG is excited to launch this new version of CNG-SAFE,” says Andrew Bailey, CNG president. “Making our application compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 helps us offer our customers compelling benefits.”
Some of the benefits Bailey outlines include:
- Intuitive User Interfaces
- Improved Security and Reliability Features
- Tools to Keep SMBs Connected to Web-Stored Data
- Full Support for Multi-Core Processing
CNG-SAFE offers multiple methods of integration with existing applications. Methods range from using standard Windows features to applying the CNG-API for custom integration. CNG also offers two global integration plug-ins, called Synchronizer and Retriever, which provide integration with virtually any Windows application without needing any engineering development.
Also available is CNG’s Retriever for WebApps, which supports integration with Web-based applications.
CNG-SAFE supports local client server and hosted SaaS models, plus the flexibility of switching between models should a customer’s preference change. CNG-SAFE’s filing structure mimics the physical filing environment of cabinets, folders and document separator tabs, helping to ensure a smooth transition to a paperless office.
Workflow is included in the base product, too. Document and folder workflow supports predefined rules and manual routing.
