Emerson Network Power Teams with IBM in the Name of Efficiency
Power and cooling products meet IBM’s Portable Modular Data Center for lower-cost remote, mobile, and temporary data center capacity.
Emerson Network Power is one of several companies collaborating with IBM in an effort to meet the rising demand for energy efficient data center capacity.
IBM is strategically partnering with technology leaders like Emerson Network Power in order to help customers expand their operations more efficiently through the use of modularized data centers. 
As part of the collaboration, IBM is working with Emerson Network Power to integrate its power and precision cooling products and services with IBM’s Portable Modular Data Center (PMDC).
IBM’s PMDC provides a fully functional data center in a shipping container with a complete physical infrastructure, including power and cooling systems and remote monitoring. It can be shipped and deployed into any environment, enabling clients to install a data center in any remote location or employ a temporary data center solution.
Emerson Network Power provides solutions for data center availability and efficiency, including precision cooling, AC and DC power systems, integrated enclosures, infrastructure management, and embedded power.
Fred Stack, vice president of marketing for Emerson Network Power’s Liebert cooling division, says the company is “excited” about the partnership. “Offerings such as IBM’s Portable Modular Data Center will help data center designers and managers scale an infrastructure quickly, reduce capital expenses, and improve efficiency while upholding high availability and performance,” he says.
For IBM’s part, vice president of site and facilities services Steven Sams says IBM is “pleased to be working with Emerson Network Power” in providing data center solutions that increase availability and energy efficiency while reducing operating costs.
