Toshiba and nTelos Announce Certified Interoperability

nTelos SIP Trunking will now integrate with Strata CIX VoIP communication systems.

Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division, has–along with nTelos–announced the certification of interoperability of the nTelos Integrated Trunking session initiation protocol solution with Toshiba’s family of Strata CIX IP business communication systems.

Integrated Trunking is now available to customers of nTelos, an integrated communications provider, via authorized Toshiba dealers in areas of Virginia and West Virginia.

“nTelos Integrated Trunking gives enterprise users of Toshiba Strata CIX VoIP business communication systems an affordable alternative to traditional land lines,” says Shahin Hatamian, vice president of product management for Toshiba America Information Systems, “providing them with the best of Toshiba’s enterprise telephony capabilities and reliable SIP Trunking.

John Spilman, nTelos’ director of product management & sales engineering, says the certification enables Toshiba dealers to offer nTelos Integrated Trunking to their customers, providing “a cost-effective, easy-to-deploy and easy-to-manage SIP solution as part of their overall enterprise telephony system.

Integrated Trunking enables dynamic bandwidth allocation between Internet access, Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity and voice with a reduced number of trunks required.

It features a primary rate interface that enables:

  • Multiple voice sessions on a broadband pipe, using an IP-enabled PBX or key system
  • Expanded local calling
  • Integrated Trunking scalability, which combines voice and data on one pipe
  • nTelos Integrated Trunking, which provides connectivity to the public-switches telephone network (PSTN) over a pipe shared between voice and data services
  • Integrated Trunking over T-1, which includes quality of service voice traffic on nTelos facilities
