Synology Offers Preconfigured Storage Solutions
The company’s Disk Station models available for small businesses and larger organizations feature network backup, file management, Web hosting, and more.
Redmond, Wash.-based Synology America Corp., a provider of network-attached storage devices known as Disk Stations for the SMB and home market, has expanded its portfolio of offerings to include complete pre-configured Synology storage solutions.†
Previously Synology Disk Stations were available only as BYOD (Buy Your Own Disk) devices to allow for maximum customization. Now customers will have a choice of whether to purchase a system complete with hard drives pre-installed or opt to customize their Synology system by picking out their own drives.
The new pre-configured systems include a variety of models such as the DS209j 2050, designed for home users who want a solution to backup their photos, videos, and music collections, or share files or use as a surveillance system.†The DS209? 2100 is one of the complete Synology solutions for offices, offering everything a small business needs right out of the box, from network backup to file management to Web site hosting.†For larger businesses that need higher capacity, the DS409 4100 is pre-configured with four-bays of storage.
“With the availability of pre-configured Synology Disk Stations, customers can now choose which solution works best for their time and budget,” says Cheen Liao, President of Synology America Corp. “Customers with limited IT knowledge or short on time will appreciate the pre-configured devices, while our experienced customers will continue to enjoy the customization of choosing their own disks.”††
Synology Disk Stations, whether single- or multidrive, come with Disk Station Manager (DSM 2.2) software, which offers an intuitive AJAX Web interface and built-in features such as scheduled backup, RAID, remote access, file management, ADS support, music streaming, photo sharing, Web hosting, surveillance, and more.
