Level Platforms Aims to Please MSPs
The developer demonstrated Managed Workplace 2011 this week. The managed services software is designed to address SMBs’ mobile, cloud-based, and on-premise technologies.
Level Platforms Inc. released Managed Workplace 2011 this week, and the company called it “the most significant software release” in company history. Level Platforms made the announcement via an online conference during which company executives demonstrated the new software features.
Managed Workplace 2011 is remote monitoring and management software for SMBs. The latest iteration of the product includes new usability and functionality, all aimed at providing MSPs with a means of improving management of client IT.
“The market for SMB technology has entered a period of rapid change,” says Level Platforms CEO Peter Sandiford. “Solution providers and MSPs need a management platform that can help them evolve their businesses to exploit this change to their advantage. Managed Workplace 2011 has the maturity and rich features of an established market leader combined with unique features that will soon be table stakes for successful MSPs.”
Among the new features are those that address the proliferation of mobile and new on-premise technologies as well as the wave of cloud computing alternatives entering the market. For example, the introduction of Automation OnDemand, an automation platform, enables MSPs to lower costs.
Other features include:
- Device Manager–This enables the monitoring of Windows devices that are out of reach of Onsite Manager (including roaming laptops, servers in remote offices or data centers, kiosks, small home offices, and clients with no server or peer-to-peer networks). The Device Manager is quickly downloaded and installed and can be branded to by MSPs.
- Automation on Demand–Managed Workplace 2011 introduces an Automation on Demand capability, leveraging a variety of standard scripting techniques and libraries. Automated tasks can be assigned to multiple devices or groups and used as alert actions or to generate alerts on the standard output result.
- Deep Asset Scanning—Newly discovered devices are automatically scanned for assets. So, there is no waiting for scheduled scans. MSPs can now request an instant update for any device, refreshing all the information in less than two minutes.
- Cloud Management–New cloud management enhancements help MSPs monitor the entire SMB environment, including on-premise devices, the cloud, and their interactions.
Managed Workplace 2011 will be available in January 2011.
