Tech Data Adds “Deep Learning” Cybersecurity Vendor Deep Instinct to Line Card

Available to resellers in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, Deep Instinct’s platform utilizes latest-generation artificial intelligence technology to protect against both known and unknown cyberattacks.

Tech Data has added Deep Instinct, a maker of “deep learning”-powered endpoint security software, to its roster of cybersecurity vendors. Available to resellers in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America,†Deep Instinct’s platform utilizes latest-generation artificial intelligence technology to protect against both known and unknown cyberattacks.

“We believe artificial-intelligence (AI)-based deep learning tools are the next wave in advanced cyber protection,” said Alex Ryals, vice president of security solutions for the Americas at Tech Data, in a press statement. “Because these tools are autonomous and constantly learning, not only do they require fewer updates, but unlike typical machine learning tools, they also require no additional human intervention and feature engineering, which helps lower support and management costs. Providing options like Deep Instinct to our customers allows them to be on the cutting edge of security, while enabling them to concentrate on growing their businesses.”

Deep learning methods are modeled after the way human brains learn. Deep Instinct’s deep neural network learns to predict and prevent both file-based and file-less cyber threats. Over time, the vendor says, its prediction capabilities become instinctive. As a result, it can identify and block both known and previously unseen malware and advanced persistent threat (APT) attacks immediately. The deep-learning-based model is engineered to achieve a higher detection rate and lower false positive rate for new files, when compared with the best machine learning solutions available.

Deep Instinct can protect across all endpoints, including servers and mobile devices, on the Windows, macOS, Android, and ChromeOS operating systems. The company says it’s software had a 100 percent prevention and interception rate against new viruses and malware, without slowing system performance, in†tests conducted by SE Labs.

“Deep Instinct prevents cyber threats that others can’t find, and our deep-learning-based solutions are the only way security teams can prepare for both known and unknown cyber threats,” said Deep Instinct CEO Guy Caspi in prepared remarks. “As we embark on new routes to our market through this partnership, we trust Tech Data’s knowledge and ability to expand the reach of our offerings to security teams across the globe.”

According to the vendor, Deep Instinct complements currently deployed security products, and doesn’t require a network connection or human intervention to work. The solution also comes with a dashboard that allows technicians to review and manage forensic events.

Deep Instinct software was previously available in the U.S. exclusively through managed services co-operative The 20 for deals involving up to 1,000 endpoints.

This year’s list of ChannelPro Vendors on the Vanguard includes Deep Instinct.
