TRENDnet, a networking provider, has launched the 200Mbps Compact Powerline AV Adapter Kit, model TPL-306E2K, which comes with two TPL-306E adapters. These adapters network computers, televisions, and other devices, using existing home or office electrical lines.
With a space-saving small form factor, the TPL-306E replaces the older TPL-303E series. It enables users to network one adapater to a router and plug another adapter into any outlet on the same electrical system for instant high speed network access. The adapters connect automatically to each other over an encrypted signal with no installation required. Additional security is available by pressing the Sync button, which changes the existing encryption keys. At least two adapters are needed to build a network.
Embedded power saving technology lowers power consumption by up to 70 percent in standby mode. The TPL-306E comes with a three year limited warranty, and is available through TRENDnet online or retail partners, at $54.99. The TPL-306E2K comes with two TPL-306E adapters, a three year limited warranty, and is available for $99.99.
