The VoIP software developer adds new features to its Client Configuration Server. Plus, it rolls out a Hosted CCS version of the product.
VoIP software solutions provider CounterPath Corp. has enhanced its Client Configuration Server (CCS) product, updating it to include with such features as notifications and validations as well as a new Hosted CCS offering.
CounterPath’s CCS enables VARs and service operators to configure softphones or other SIP endpoints. It also facilitates the management of ongoing configuration updates and upgrades via comprehensive Web interface and API.
Highlights of the latest CCS upgrades include:
- End-User Notification — This provides login information and a client download link to end-users via email. Operators are able to personalize email body using an email template scheme. They can also provide additional documentation using HTML links.
- XML Validation & Attribute Type Restrictions — The possibility of operator errors is reduced with XML schema validations of template configuration files and attribute type restrictions in the Web interface.
- Read-Only Administrators — Read-only administrators can be established. These roles are able to review contents of a user group without being able to manipulate data (Web interface and API).
- User List Download & Enhanced Upload Capability — This facilitates bulk moves, adds, or changes made using a CSV file containing information for all users and the attributes set on a user level (or via the use of a download mechanism for archival or data portability).
In addition to the updates made to the CCS product, CounterPath also added a hosted version of the product. Hosted CCS is available now. It enables SMBs to minimize infrastructure investment and significantly accelerate deployment.
CounterPath aims for its Hosted CCS product to provide:
- A “no investment” model in which CounterPath manages the purchasing, setup, and hosting of all the hardware, space, power, and bandwidth.
- Reduced resource monopolization needed in typical setups of infrastructure and main group configurations.
Quick deployment, with the initial setup of the Hosted CCS system being completed by CounterPath.
