Fujitsu Uses Tandberg Data’s 1 TB RDX with Its PRIMERGY Platform
The OEM will include the removable disk cartridge among those offerings used with its disk-based backup and archiving system.
Data protection solutions provider Tandberg Data will now see its 1 TB RDX removable disk cartridge added to the RDX cartridge portfolio of OEM Fujitsu.
It was announced this week that Fujitsu will include the Tandberg’s 1 TB RDX removable disk cartridge among those offerings Fujitsu uses with its PRIMERGY server platform, a backup system that offers secure offsite disk-based backup and archiving for SMBs.
RDX technology is designed to back up and archive data from servers and workstations. RDX removable disk technology offers higher capacity, faster speed, and lower cost than low-end tape products such as DAT and 8mm.† Its fast transfer rate of up to 45MB/second enables users to back up 100 GB of data in less than an hour, streamlining the backup process.†† RDX media is available in capacities ranging from 160 GB to 1 TB.†
“Our PRIMERGY Server platform combined, with RDX removable disk technology, provides customers with the ability to centralize and protect their IT infrastructures easily and economically,” says Uwe Romppel, Fujitsu’s senior director of product management. “The new high capacity 1 TB RDX cartridge allows customers to pack even more data on a single piece of media that can be used for daily backup or for offsite disaster recovery,” he added.
