Kofax Releases New Version of VRS Elite
The image enhancement software adds centralized licensing, device health monitoring, and automatic profile management features, along with updated algorithms for image perfection.
Document management and compliance solutions provider Kofax plc released its Kofax VirtualReScan (VRS) Elite last week. VRS Elite is a new version of the company’s patented image enhancement software.
Kofax VRS Elite offers enhanced scanning functionality aimed at improving “the solution’s overall performance, device health monitoring capabilities, and the ability to support enterprise capture deployments,” according to Kofax. Specifically, VRS Elite is designed to reduce the time involved in manual document preparation.
Kofax VRS and Kofax VRS Elite integrate with more than 200 digital scanners and deliver images to any application, including the company’s Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation Modules software.
The new features of Kofax VRS Elite include:
Centralized Licensing–This feature enables centralized administrative control over the distribution, installation, and activation of Kofax VRS Elite licenses.
Device Health Monitoring–For MSPs, this enables monitoring of the operating condition of local or remote digital scanners, and it proactively alerts users to the existence of potential issues.
Automatic Profile Management–For the reduction of scanning problems, this feature automatically creates a profile for a document’s specific characteristics and applies it to the image enhancement process.
New and Updated Algorithms–Image clarity is improved with the addition of new and updated algorithms.
“High-quality images are critical as they significantly impact the success of downstream classification, page segmentation, data extraction, and retrieval needs,” says Kofax executive vice president of products Jim Nicol. “By leveraging Kofax VRS Elite, customers can maximize their document capture platforms to increase performance, reduce costs and generate a fast, measurable ROI.”
