Diskeeper Ramps Up HyperBoot Distribution
Software will be included on ASUS’s forthcoming Windows 7 notebooks. Diskeeper also touts video demo for potential users.
Diskeeper Corp. closed a second worldwide distribution agreement with global OEM ASUS. The agreement enables Diskeeper’s newest HyperBoot boot-time optimization technology to be included on ASUS’s forthcoming Windows 7 notebook models.
HyperBoot is boot-time optimization software from Diskeeper. According to the developer, the software “automatically provides decreased boot times from 20 to 48 percent depending on processor, memory and configuration.”
Installed at the manufacturing stage, HyperBoot begins “learning” a computer’s boot pattern from the first time the computer is started up and optimizes it thereafter for peak performance.
“Diskeeper is rapidly becoming a technology player in the OEM market,” says Diskeeper CTO Gary Quan. “The deal with ASUS marks yet another OEM who will provide HyperBoot technology to give their users the fastest boot-up speeds available.”

On its Web site, Diskeeper invites potential HyperBoot users to watch a video demonstrating the benefits of the software.
In the video below, “two identical laptops run side by side. The one with HyperBoot boot-time optimization software shows a 118 percent increase in performance and a 54 percent decrease in boot time,” the company states.
According to video post, this test took 17 minutes. “Knowing that no one would sit for this long, the first boot up is live, in real time. The remaining boot ups are shown in a speeded time lapse (clearly indicated, but never removing the camera),” states the post.
