UTM appliances provide solid security while maintaining network throughput.
Netgear, Inc., a provider branded networking solutions in San Jose, Calif., has announced the ProSecure UTM (Unified Threat Management) family of appliances for small businesses. The ProSecure UTM line, which initially consists of the UTM10 and UTM25 appliances, leverages security technologies from Commtouch, Mailshell, and Sophos as well as Netgear’s patent-pending Stream Scanning technology to deliver security at a price that fits small business budgets. The UTM appliances also come with simple subscription options without any per-user licensing.
According to Netgear, its Stream Scanning Technology enables the ProSecure UTM to employ best-of-breed security technologies while maintaining a high level of throughput and minimizing scanning induced latency.
