At the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco today, Twitch, a leading video platform and community for gamers, announced it has adopted IntelÆ Quick Sync Video technology as part of its software development kit. Using IntelÆ Core processors and the built-in hardware encoder for video, Intel Quick Sync Video technology helps enable gamers to encode and stream their video gameplay live on Twitch with minimal impact to actual gameplay. For broadcasters, this means a reduction in demands on the processor and improvements in the overall video quality when streaming in high definition.
