Networking hardware manufacturer TRENDnet has announced the general availability of its 500 Mbps Compact Powerline AV Adapter Kit (Model TPL-406E2K), which comes with two TPL-406E powerline adapters. These high performance 500 Mbps adapters are fifty percent smaller than predecessor 500 Mbps adapter models.
The 500 Mbps Compact Powerline AV Adapter Kit uses any electrical outlet to create a secure high speed network. SMBs can connect the first adapter to a network and plug the second adapter into any outlet on the electrical system for instant high speed network access. The compact form factor is designed to save space around crowded outlets.
The adapter automatically connects to other TRENDnet Powerline AV adapters with no installation required—TRENDnet recommends pressing the ‘Sync’ button to automatically change default encryption keys.
SMBs can use up to eight adapters to network devices in different rooms without running new cabling. Quality of Service (QoS) technology prioritizes video, audio, and online gaming. LED displays convey device status for troubleshooting. Advanced 128-bit AES encryption secures the network.

The TPL-406E2K is currently shipping to TRENDnet’s online and retail partners. It carries a MSRP of $109.99.
