BUMI Updates Its Managed Online Backup Solution

The new version expands integration with NetApp storage solutions, improves VMware backup performance, and broadens support for Mac OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard environments.

Managed online backup solutions provider BUMI (Backup My Info) has announced the latest version of its online data backup and recovery solution.

BUMI Updates Its Managed Online Backup Solution  The new version includes expanded integration with NetApp storage solutions, increased performance for VMware backups, support for Mac OS X Lion and OS X Snow Leopard, and an enhanced Network Operations Center for improved visibility and better control over customers’ backup environments.

The latest BUMI release was automatically deployed for all existing BUMI clients and is currently available to all new clients signing up for BUMI’s online data backup and recovery solution. Key features of the new release include:

  • NetApp API Level Integration — SMBs using NetApp storage solutions are now able to integrate with BUMI using using NetApp’s Snapshots.
  • VMware 4.1 via VADP — Facilitated backup and restore support for VMs as well as individual disks within VMs (VMDK-level).
  • Mac OS X Lion & OS X Snow Leopard Support — Backup and recovery for Mac users via mobile client with intuitive wizards and options.
  • DS-NOC — An intuitive, Web-based interface for real-time visibility and control. At a glance, administrators can see the status of licenses, capacity usage and backup completion for each of their clients.

Walzer adds, “Since the upgrade, we’ve seen a boost in our ability to take care of our clients and help them overcome these obstacles.”
