PNY Technologies Inc. and Asetek Partner to Produce Liquid Cooled Graphics Solution
Targeting the enthusiast market, the companies showcased an integrated XLR8 GeForce GTX liquid cooled graphics system (with a combination GPU/CPU cooling version available as well) at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 in LA this week.
Components and accessory innovator PNY Technologies Inc. introduced its new Liquid Cooled Graphics Cards line this week. PNY’s new Liquid Cooled Graphics solution was showcased at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 this week at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles.
PNY has joined forces with CPU thermal management company Asetek in launching a high-end Liquid Cooled Graphics solution geared toward gaming enthusiasts. Together, the companies are providing enthusiasts with an integrated XLR8 GeForce GTX liquid cooled graphics system (with a combination GPU/CPU cooling version available as well). Engineered with a closed loop system, and built with an Asetek sealed water cooler attached, the PNY design provides an out-of-the-box-ready solution.
This new system is designed to deliver cooler temperatures, quieter acoustics, and faster performance compared to than the standard graphics card. With increased overclocking headroom versus air cooled, the liquid is engineer to keep overall temperatures low to provide better performance for gamers.
Liquid Cooled also generates less heat, according to PNY in a press release submitted to Channel Pro-SMB. “PC parts are protected due to lower exposure to hot temperatures,” the company says. “Additionally, less noise is produced as fans aren’t running at maximum speed to compensate for the heat.”
“Together with Asetek, PNY will redefine the way gamers build and upgrade their PC systems,” says Nicholas Mauro, PNY’s senior marketing manager of PC components. “This simple all-in-one solution will resonate deeply with gamers looking for a powerful yet affordable option.”
For Asetek’s part, Adrian Hodgson, the company’s marketing manager, says his company is “thrilled to give E3 attendees the first chance to see these products in action.”
The XLR8 Liquid Cooled GTX 580 carries a MSRP of $579.99. The XLR8 Liquid Cooled GTX 580 with CPU Cooling has a MSRP of $649.99.
PNY offers a 5-Year Warranty for the Liquid Cooled system. Users have a standard 3-year out of box warranty, extended to 5 years upon completion of product registration at PNY.com within 90 days of purchase. PNY also offers free 24-hour technical support.
