The latest version of the scan-to-archive solution adds automated indexing and Microsoft SharePoint 2010 certification.
Document and business management solutions developer Kofax plc has released the latest version of its Kofax Express software package.
Kofax Express 2.5 improves the developer’s all-in-one, scan-to-archive software package by adding automated indexing capabilities and certification for Microsoft SharePoint 2010. According to the company, these new abilities help SMBs “capture documents and data for even faster processing, enhanced data quality, and reduced costs.”
In a statement submitted to Channel Pro-SMB, Jim Nicol, Kofax’s executive vice president of products, says Kofax Express 2.5 was developed to make it easier for users to scan and export document images and index data. “By adding new capabilities that simplify setup, indexing, and administration,” he says, “we’ve automated more of the process and further reduced costs associated with training for an even faster ROI.”
The new features of Kofax Express 2.5 include:
- Zonal Optical Character Recognition — Express enables users to employ the software to identify and automatically extract index field data from documents, providing faster indexing and accelerated processing times.
- Rubber Band OCR — Users are now able to “rubber band” index fields in a document using a mouse and automatically extract data, saving keystrokes and making the indexing of documents faster and easier.
- SharePoint Certification — Kofax Express is now certified for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 and 2010, enabling customers to quickly and easily collect, transform, and deliver information into SharePoint for fast retrieval and the initiation of SharePoint workflows.
