Active Media Adds New Line of IDE Flash DOM Drives
The storage company says the small-scale PATA DOMs were developed in response to demand from industrial customers.
Storage innovator Active Media Products has a new line of IDE Flash DOM (disk on module) drives for use in servers and other networking, industrial, military, and embedded applications.
The new Parallel ATA flash disk modules are offered in 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB capacities. Each is built with MLC NAND Flash. Each is designed with industry standard 40-pin and 44-pin female IDE connectors, making them compatible with myriad motherboards and systems.
Active Media Products vice preside of sales Jerry Thomson said the new PATA DOMs were developed in response to demand from industrial customers looking for “relatively small, but highly reliable storage drives for use in server appliances.”
The DOMs have been validated on Opteron 6100 (Magny Cours) server motherboards to ensure compatibility with up-to-date server hardware.
The new FDMs are available now through Amazon.com. OEMs can access the product directly from AMP. Approximate prices for the hardware are $63 for the 8 GB models, $85 for 16 GB models, and $159 for the 32 GB models.
