Bootcamps Arranged for Avaya’s New Nortel Customers
Distributor Weston Convergence to sponsor “orientation” sessions for those adjusting to Avaya’s acquisition of Nortel.
Westcon Group Inc., distributor of networking, security, and mobility products, and its Weston Convergence affiliate is sponsoring a series of new Avaya partner bootcamps.
In a press release to EH Publishing, Westcon says two-and-a-half-day bootcamps have been planned for Nortel-oriented resellers looking to become authorized Avaya BusinessPartners. The bootcamps sessions will include product portfolio presentations and “onboarding orientations.”
Avaya acquired Nortel just before the end of 2009.†
In addition to Nortel information, the seminar will also provide introductions to complementary solutions from Meru Networks, Audiocodes, and others as well as financing options from Westcon Group and Avaya Financial Services.
The bootcamp is free for qualified Nortel-oriented resellers and is targeted primarily at business principles, senior sales, and operations executives, states the Westcon press release.
Avaya vice president of distributors Mike Reid says Weston Convergence plays a “very important role” in helping Nortel customers realize new market opportunities. “These bootcamp sessions not only provide visibility into the Avaya’s product set,” he says, “but are also a fabulous opportunity for our mutual customers to gain expert guidance from business leaders and decision makers.”
January and February bootcamps have been planned in Dallas, Chicago, and Toronto. Bootcamp dates and locations are as follows:
- Dallas–Jan. 12-14 at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel
- Chicago-Jan. 26-28 at the Westin O’Hare
- Toronto-Feb. 9-11 at Sheraton Gateway Hotel, Toronto International Airport
