A peer-to-peer collaboration portal, assistance with operational problems, and help tracking vendor promotional offers are all on the way or under consideration for the TD SYNNEX partner community, according to executives and advisory council members. By Rich Freeman

Dave Brown, an advisory council member who is also CEO of ROVE LLC, a solution provider headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., credits last year’s merger of Tech Data and SYNNEX to form TD SYNNEX for the distributor’s increased willingness to reward partner community membership with access to more people, tools, and events like the seven regional gatherings the community will stage in the U.S. and Canada this summer and fall.

“There’s a lot more investments going into this” since the $7.2 billion transaction closed, he says.

Brown’s fellow council member Michael Boone, executive vice president of InaCOMP Technical Services Group, a strategy, services, and solutions provider in Southfield, Mich., appreciates those investments as well. Like attendees at the meeting of TD SYNNEX’s Varnex partner community in March, however, he hopes the post-merger distributor’s massive scale, which makes those incremental investments possible, doesn’t dilute TechSelect’s culture.

“You want the scale, you want all these great benefits, but you still want the close personal relationships and intimacy,” he says.
