Mobile carrier T-Mobile US Inc. has entered the small business help desk market in the form of a new phone- and chat-based service offering unlimited company-wide support for a flat $40 per month.
Available to organizations with up to 12 lines of T-Mobile ONE voice service, the new T-Mobile for Business Help Desk provides live support from a U.S.-based team of technicians seven days a week from 8am to midnight eastern time.
Subscribers can request software installation and configuration help for Windows and Mac OS devices, plus assistance with wireless printer and routers issues and how-to instructions for a range of CRM, cloud storage, finance, antivirus and other widely-used solutions. T-Mobile technicians, who are equipped with remote screen sharing and desktop control software, can also install software updates and remove viruses.
“Technology powers nearly every aspect of businesses today. Workforces are becoming increasingly mobile, and it all just needs to work,” said Mike Katz, executive vice president of T-Mobile for Business, in a press statement. “Most small businesses don’t have the time, money or technical expertise to manage IT and deal with unexpected tech issues—IT support can cost more than $100 an hour! So they often go without any IT support at all. We built Help Desk for them, to provide the tech support they need for everything from software installation and configuration to cloud storage setup and much more, at a price point that makes it totally accessible.”
Users submit requests for assistance via tap-to-call and tap-to-chat buttons in a new mobile app available for both iOS and Android devices. T-Mobile says it will respond to all inquiries in 30 seconds or less.
T-Mobile isn’t the only industry giant to offering services normally provided by MSPs to small businesses customers. Microsoft announced a new managed desktop service for companies “both large and small” in September.
