CharTec, a Hardware-as-a-Service and MSP training provider geared towards SMBs, is launching a software version of its backup and data recovery (BDR) appliance. The appliance enables partners by reusing existing hardware or BDR products.
The CharTec BDR software is designed to run in place of current BDR solutions or as a standalone offering. MSPs can provide data protection and restore features without needing to remove hardware. The software is hardware and OS agnostic, reducing the need to buy next hardware. The ability to install without removing or substituting the hardware maintains the maximum uptime and continuity of the end users’ business critical infrastructures.
Deployed from a USB thumb driver, the easily installed BDR software replicates a client’s production infrastructure through local and cloud-virtualized backup images. These images are tested and verified daily to ensure data is up to date. The software is managed through a web-based portal with an RMM agent for alerting and scripting. Running the software requires 64-bit hardware, a minimum of 8GBs of RAM, and a license of Windows 2008 R2.
Prices start at $79 a month, which includes backup for one server and 100GB of offsite storage. For more information, visit http://www.CharTec.net/softBDR.
