Netgear Partners with StorageCraft
Ready NAS network storage systems now integrate with StorageCraft’s ShadowProtect Server, ShadowProtect Small Business Server, and ShadowProtect Desktop backup, migration, and disaster recovery software.
Netgear announced a new tech partnership with StorageCraft this week.
StorageCraft makes disk-based backup, disaster recovery, and system migration solutions. When paired with the Ready NAS network storage systems, Netgear says StorageCraft innovations can “take backup and recovery times from hours to minutes.”
According to a Netgear press release submitted to EH Publishing, the complementary combination of Netgear’s ReadyNAS network storage systems and StorageCraft’s ShadowProtect software will provide “reliability, speed, and affordability” for disk-based backup and disaster recovery.
The partnership also aims to benefit channel partners seeking an affordable alternative to traditional costly vendors. “With this solution, channel partners can deliver backup and disaster recovery solutions that cover both physical and virtual environments, solving replication, disaster recovery, and individual file restore problems,” states the Netgear press release.
Netgear’s commercial ReadyNAS systems use enterprise-class drives, support unified NAS and SAN architecture, include secure replication utilities, and are backed by a five-year hardware warranty.
StorageCraft ShadowProtect is a line of disk-based backup, disaster recovery, and system migration technology for Windows servers, desktops, and laptops. ShadowProtect addresses the recovery time objective for businesses and the need to integrate disaster recovery planning with virtualized systems as well as centralizing management of backups.
Drew Meyer is Netgear’s director of storage marketing. He says SMBs face threats to business data in a variety of ways, from simple power outages to viruses and malware. “The need for instant backup and recovery solutions led to our partnership with StorageCraft,” he says, “bringing exceptional performance gains and new levels of functionality to ReadyNAS customers and partners.”
