CipherOptics Rolls Outs New VSEs
The network encryption innovator’s new line of variable speed encryption appliances will be made generally available to the channel starting November.
CipherOptics, maker of scalable network encryption, has a new line of variable speed encryption (VSE) appliances.
Traditional encryption appliances are based on a static throughput. The new VSE line of network encryptors, on the other hand, enables encryption at various throughputs based on bandwidth licenses.
According to CipherOptics CEO Thomas Gill, the new VSEs provide SMBs with a more attainable means for compliance and data security. “With static encryption speeds typically at 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, or 1 Gbps, many organizations have been forced to either pay for more encryption than they need or restrict the throughput of their network to match the encryption,” he says. “Our customers have a flexible and affordable entry point for compliance and data security with an upgrade path that provides investment protection as their business needs grow.”
All of the VSE platforms will be compatible with CipherOptics’ CipherEngine group encryption solution. They will also offer data protection at Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4.
General availability is slated for mid-November. The Variable Speed Encryption appliances will be available in three platforms with bandwidth licenses based on common WAN link speeds. The CEP10 VSE will offer bandwidth licenses for 3, 6, 10, 25, 50, and 75 Mbps of encrypted throughput. The CEP100 VSE will offer licenses for 100, 155, and 250 Mbps. The CEP1000 VSE will include throughputs of 500 Mbps, 650 Mbps, and 1Gbps.
