Permabit Technology Corporation, a provider of data efficiency technology based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has entered into an agreement with Arrow Electronics Inc. to distribute its SANblox data efficiency appliance combined with IBM storage technology.
SANblox, which leverages Permabit’s Albireo VDO, provides “plug-and-save” data reduction across a wide range of applications, including mixed virtual server, VDI, and virtualized cloud environments.

The goal is to ensure customers have access to the right storage technology for their Big Data, analytics, and cloud environments,” says Jamie Thomas, general manager, IBM Storage and Software Defined. “By integrating Permabit SANblox’s block-level data deduplication with our storage solutions, we are enabling our customers to store their most critical data cost effectively on the highest performing tiers of storage such as our new IBM FlashSystem 900 and FlashSystem V9000. “
