The sprawling new product family includes a multi-layered edge and endpoint security solution, a purpose-built data protection infrastructure system, and a set of APIs and developer tools for connecting third-party solutions and services to those systems.

Valued at some $3.9 billion, the deal would add another major security vendor to the private equity firm’s investment portfolio, which already includes Barracuda Networks and Continuum, both of which offer extensive lineups of security solutions.

Under newly enacted rules of engagement associated with a larger partner recruitment drive, the vendor’s reseller partners will share a common deal registration system with its field sales team when pursuing deals involving outsourced SOC services.
