In meetings with ChannelPro at last week’s Empower MSP conference in Orlando, company executives including Dave Sobel (pictured) described plans to switch from device-centric to user-centric management, equip its RMM systems to make technicians more efficient, and roll out new security solutions.

Working in coordination with Sophos endpoint security software, the system scrutinizes network traffic streams in real time for previously unidentified and potentially dangerous software, so technicians can classify and block it if necessary.

Together, the two vendors seek to arm SMBs to block viruses, ransomware, and other threats at the network perimeter, before they can endanger servers housing sensitive or regulated data.

Called Mail Assure and announced during pre-day activities at the vendor’s Empower MSP conference in Orlando, the system acts as a protective layer for incoming and outgoing email.

The announcement of the DXL/pxGrid innovation comes on the heels of Cisco’s inclusion in McAfee’s expanding Security Innovation Alliance partner program.
