The IT security company improves the user interface of its antivirus and security software as well as its code and detection mechanisms.
IT security innovator Avira has announced Version 2012 of its popular antivirus computer security software.
The software is designed to detect and remove malware and shield SMBs from viruses, worms, rootkits, botnets, identify theft scams, and other Internet-borne threats. The latest version, Version 2012, includes improvements to the user interface, installation process, malware detection and removal, and usage of system resources.
“Our guiding philosophy in the design of our 2012 security software was ‘less is more,'” says Sorin Mustaca, Avira’s product manager and data security expert. “We give SMBs more security with less manual configurations and decisions to make.”
Improvements made to the software include:
- Improved User Interfaces — A cleaner, more modern screen design with options organized by function, and a streamlined two-click install process and automatic resolution of software conflicts during installation.
- Smarter Code†– New detection mechanisms designed to find rogue code that hides even deep in the operating system.
- Stronger Detection†— The ability for Avira software to function without many registry keys, providing better resistance against process termination and component deletion.
In addition, Avira 2012 adds Live Customer Support for all premium products. Users are able to connect directly with a technical support engineer, who will fix the problems in real time over the Internet using Avira’s new Team Viewer feature.
Avira’s 2012 lineup of antivirus security software is available now. Avira 2012 is now available for download. Avira Free Antivirus is free of charge. Avira Antivirus Premium 2012 carries a pricetag of $29.99 and Avira Internet Security 2012 retails for $59.99.
