Lenovo's P300 Series ThinkStation Announced at Accelerate 2014

If you thought that fancy new 10-inch ThinkPad Tablet was the only thing Lenovo had to show at its Accelerate partner conference, then you don't know Lenovo very well. No Lenovo event is complete without a killer new ThinkStation to show, and the new P300 brings a lot of unique flexibility and power to channel resellers at desktop-class pricing.

First of all, the P300 is really the replacement for the existing E-series SKUs, and for good reason. On the outside, say goodbye to that odd bulky handle, and say hello to sleeker red touch points and an extended lip in the front and the back that make for easy carrying without the extra height. The ThinkStation P300 is available with the latest Intel Xeon E3-1200v3 product family as well as new 4th Generation Intel Core processor and ECC memory support.

Also in front is the new FLEX module, which gives users the option to add only the components they need, allowing customized configurations with added cost savings. The FLEX module supports a combination of an ultra-slim optical drive, 29-in-1 media card reader, IEEE 1394 Firewire, and eSATA.

Lenovo really is targeting a wide variety of businesses with the P300, regardless of the industry. "Oil & Gas, Media & Entertainment, Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Medical & Science – workstations run mission-critical workloads and users are running very specific, high-performance applications. Extensive ISV certifications ensure application reliability and the P300 is engineered for superior dependability. The broad selection of processor, graphics, and memory configurations safeguard investment and boost performance and productivity."

The Lenovo ThinkStation P300 starts at $729 and will be available in tower and small-form-factor models starting in June through Lenovo business partners and on www.lenovo.com.
