Acer America has introduced its latest notebook PC for customers in the U.S. and Canada, the TravelMate B115. Boasting a thin design, 10-point multi-touch support, and a battery life up to 10 hours, this model is designed for commercial customers, particularly those in education.

The Acer TravelMate B115 also comes with security and management software enabling educators and IT managers to safeguard† data and oversee IT assets remotely. Acer ProShield Manager is a suite of security and management tools within a single unified interface. Acer ProShield prevents unauthorized access while protecting assets and data integrity. Featuring pre-boot authentication, it protects the notebook from the BIOS level to the application level. Users can create a Personal Secure Drive (PSD) to store and encrypt all critical files, ensuring that if the notebook is lost or stolen, the data can’t be accessed. In addition, a File Shredder utility lets users permanently remove unwanted files or folders.
Acer Backup offers an added layer of security by backing up valuable data, media, and other digital assets, while Acer eRecovery Manager enables on-demand recovery. The TravelMate B115 also comes with Acer Office Manager, a manageability solution, which allows IT managers to deploy security policies, monitor IT assets, and schedule maintenance tasks in one application. †
The Acer TravelMate B115 will be available later this month in the United States and Canada from authorized Acer resellers with estimated prices starting at $379 USD.
