Called HP University, the new training service is designed to help partners master the skills needed to prosper in an industry evolving from one-time product transactions to solution selling and recurring revenue models.

The vendor added two new platforms to its expanding A3 printer family and new workflow scanners too, along with an SDK for building industry-specific workflow solutions around those and other HP print devices.

The name changes comes as the branches out from its origins as a security-as-a-service vendor into SD-WAN services as well.

The new offering is designed to make the same wireless networks that mobile phones use a primary internet connectivity option for businesses that don’t want to invest in fiber buildouts or cope with territorial provider limits.

The acquisition positions both Intermedia and its partners to capitalize on rapid growth in the Unified Communications-as-a-Service market.

The new offerings combine formerly discrete equivalents from Avast itself and AVG, the security and managed services vendor it purchased last year.

Now known as Westcon-Comstor Americas, those businesses will operate as a SYNNEX subsidiary with complementary expertise in security, unified communications, and networking.

The acquisition positions the managed services software maker to add a more robust threat intelligence engine, mobile-friendly interface, and multilingual code base to its MSP Mail security, archiving, and continuity solution.

Set to reach market in November, the newest additions to the ThinkAgile product line will combine VMware’s vSAN hyperconverged infrastructure platform with Lenovo hardware and software.

Designed to accelerate adoption of Chromebooks, the new offering also enables technicians to administer Chrome-based hardware through the same interface as their other end points using VMware’s Workspace ONE platform.
