Tandberg Data, a data protection provider, is now offering an LTO-5 Half Height (HH) Fibre Channel (FC) external desktop tape drive. The new LTO-5 HH FC external tape drive is capable of backing up 3TB of data in less than three hours, delivering an inexpensive way to edit, store, and archive data.
LTO-5 is an inexpensive and reliable way to archive large amounts of data, at less than 2.5 cents per GB. This new tape drive supports Linear Tape File System (LTFS) for Mac and Linux, enabling the tape drive to operate like a hard disk for direct access. Bringing enterprise features in a small desktop form factor, features include:
