Tripp Lite Expands Line of Managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch PDU Combos

The energy-efficient managed switches provide the ability to manage, prioritize, and monitor LAN traffic and offer one or more ways to modify switch operation.

Tripp†Lite, a manufacturer of power protection and connectivity solutions, has introduced an expanded line of managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch PDU combos designed to connect devices such as computers, printers and servers to a local area network (LAN).

The new network switch PDU combos feature a built-in Ethernet network interface to allow full remote access. Each unit is combined with a built-in network-grade power distribution unit (PDU), and the entire switch/PDU combo unit fits in 1U of rack space.

Other features of the new managed switch/PDU include:

  • 16 or 24 auto-negotiating 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports
  • Built-in PDUs provide up to 12 NEMA 5-15R outlets
  • Smart managed switches include an RJ45 console port and command line interface (CLI)
  • Power over Ethernet models, commonly called PoE switches, pass electric power over the Ethernet cables to PoE-compatible devices
