Intel Developer Forum Lineup Established for 13th Annual Conference

The Intel Developer Forum returns to San Francisco mid-September to show off the latest digital enterprise, mobility, embedded and communications, software, manufacturing, and research technologies.

The Intel Developer Forum (IDF) returns to San Francisco in September for its 13th annual conference.

The forum, which Intel calls the “largest technical conference,” is being held Sept. 13–15 at the Moscone Center West. According to the chipmaker, the conference will focus on “Intel’s technology and platform roadmap … in the areas of digital enterprise, mobility, embedded and communications, software, manufacturing, and research.”

IDF Gold Sponsors are Cisco Systems, Citrix Systems Inc., EMC Corp., IBM, Microsoft Corporation, Rambus, Samsung, Supermicro, and Wind River. Silver Sponsors are DTS Inc., Hynix Semiconductor Inc., Lenovo Group Ltd., Symantec, and VMware.

All three days will feature technical session tracks. Topics include “Sandy Bridge,” cloud computing, eco-technology, Intel Atom and Intel Core processors, embedded solutions, health care IT, Intel Solid-State Drive Technology, PCI Express, SuperSpeed USB, Unified Extensible Firmware Interface, and visual computing. The “Intel Fellows: Live and Uncensored” sessions will field questions from attendees.

Other IDF highlights include the Industry Technology Showcase, Insight sessions, the Intel microarchitecture codenamed “Sandy Bridge,” and more.

KEYNOTE LINEUP
Intel president and CEO Paul Otellini will kick off opening day with a keynote addressing his views on the current “Computing Continuum.” Immediately following will be David Perlmutter, Intel vice president and general manager of the company’s architecture group.

Intel reports that the Day 2 keynote will focus on the Intel Atom processor ecosystem. The speech will be delivered by Doug Davis, vice president and general manager of Intel’s embedded and communications group, and Renee James, the company’s senior vice president and general manager of the software and services group.

The final keynote of the conference, on Sept. 15, will feature Justin Rattner, the company’s chief technology officer and vice president and director of Intel Labs.
