Citrix Systems, Inc. announced that its board of directors has appointed David J. Henshall, chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Citrix, as president, chief executive officer (CEO) and a member of the board, effective immediately. Mr. Henshall’s appointment follows the mutual separation decision between the Citrix board and Kirill Tatarinov, president, CEO and director of Citrix.

In an announcement timed to coincide with Microsoft’s partner conference this week, the distributor introduced new services aimed at helping resellers design, build, and manage Azure-based infrastructure solutions.

The company’s backup and recovery suite delivers a secure approach to data protection, simplifying complexity and reducing costs.

The security vendor also added SD-WAN optimization capabilities to its NextGen Firewall product family, introduced a new API for its Web Application Firewall portfolio, and announced a new alliance agreement with DevOps toolmaker Puppet Inc.

On the second day of the company’s Inspire partner conference, Microsoft’s Judson Althoff (pictured) provided a detailed look at a new organizational model aimed at delivering complete solutions in targeted markets to customers in specific industries.
