New functionality provided at no charge lets people working remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic scan personally-owned PCs, and then issues color-coded, letter-graded report cards that MSPs can use to identify vulnerabilities in need of remediation.

The acquisition is designed to help NetApp combine virtual desktop infrastructure services from Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Google with its own cloud storage and backup platforms to deliver complete “modern workplace” solutions.

Drawing on hardware acceleration technologies from Intel, NVIDIA, and AMD, the vendor’s remote desktop support products now let video editors, game developers, and CAD/CAM users connect from home with high-end workstations at the office.

Equipped with lightweight agents and backed by optional premium support services, the new products aim to extend protections already available for PCs, laptops, and mobile devices to another critical set of IT assets.

The new 90 Days Same as Cash and Baker’s Dozen programs join earlier offerings rolled out in March, one of which now lets buyers make interest-only payments for six months at a lower 1% rate.
