SYNNEX Corporation, a distributor of IT products and services, will offer Google Play for Education on tablets to authorized solution providers. The news was announced at the distributor’s annual public sector conference, Red, White, & You.
This addition to SYNNEX's Google education solutions portfolio, which also includes the Google Chrome Management Console, enhances how resellers can differentiate themselves in the education market by being able to provision and manage a wider variety of platforms and devices, allowing them the opportunity to gain more share of their end-users' IT budgets.
Especially beneficial for K-3 environments that use a high level of touch devices in the classroom, Google Play for Education gives resellers the ability to sell management of both tablets and content, including apps, videos, and books, in the same console in a less cumbersome manner. Similar to the Google Chrome environment, a large number of devices can be set up and deployed in a matter of minutes or hours. Currently, the following Android tablets are compatible with Google Play for Education: Google Nexus 7, ASUS Transformer Pad, HP Slate8 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy Tab for Education, which are all available through SYNNEX.
"We continue to invest in bringing more opportunities for our customers in the education market to make the 1:1 goal a reality in school systems across the country," says Eddie Franklin, vice president, sales, public sector and vertical markets, SYNNEX Corporation. "Adding tablets with Google Play for Education to our K-12 portfolio and providing the right accessories and additional software make it easier than ever for our resellers to continue to win more business from the school districts they serve."
