Acer Launches Chromebook with Intel Core i3 Processor

Acer C720 Chromebook, available in two models, is designed to offer faster performance and long battery life.

The Acer C720 Chromebook is now available in two models, both powered by an Intel Core i3 processor to provide customers even faster and more responsive performance for multitasking, while also providing battery life of up to 8.5 hours, according to Acer.

“This is an incredibly exciting time to be a leader in the Chromebook market, since customers are responding with tremendous enthusiasm for the product’s performance, capabilities and value,” says Eric Ackerson, senior product marketing and brand manager, Acer America. “We’ve been breaking new ground with our Chromebooks since 2011, and our new Intel Core i3 model will deliver more of what our customers love about our Chromebooks, including excellent performance and all-day battery life.”

The new Chrome OS models have an 11.6-inch ComfyView HD display with a 1366×768 resolution. The Acer C720 also comes with 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, integrated HD webcam, and microphone. The Chromebook connects to a range of peripherals and external displays with HDMI, USB 3.0, and USB 2.0 ports.

The Acer C720 Chromebook will be available in two models with a 4th Generation Intel Core i3-40005U processor (1.7GHz, 3MB L3 cache). The Acer C720-3404 has 4GB of memory and is priced at $379.99, while the Acer C720-3871 has 2GB of memory and is priced at $349.99. They will be available this month at retailers in North America.
