In a conversation with ChannelPro this week at its Navigate partner event in Las Vegas, Michael George (pictured) explained why Continuum is betting big that it has a crucial competitive edge in one of IT’s hottest markets.

Called Continuum Security and scheduled to reach market early next year, the solution combines software for erecting and managing a defensive perimeter with threat detection and response technology and a 24/7 security operations center.

The new offering layers real-time threat detection and response capabilities powered by the Amazon Web Services public cloud on top of the signature-based defenses in VIPRE’s on-premises endpoint security system.

Continuing its 2017 tour, ASCII Group hosted IT solution providers and vendors in Miami for two days of networking, education, and training.

The summits to feature an enhanced educational agenda, new cities, and new content, plus a keynote by a former White House CIO.

The vendor also announced that Sophos Server Protection now supports Microsoft Azure server instances, and can coordinate defensive measures with Sophos XG Firewall on Azure.

The security and data protection vendor has also added provisioning and integrated billing support to its ECHOplatform MSP management portal.

The vendor added two new platforms to its expanding A3 printer family and new workflow scanners too, along with an SDK for building industry-specific workflow solutions around those and other HP print devices.

The name changes comes as the branches out from its origins as a security-as-a-service vendor into SD-WAN services as well.

The new offerings combine formerly discrete equivalents from Avast itself and AVG, the security and managed services vendor it purchased last year.
