Earlier this year, as reported by Channel Pro-SMB, Paessler AG announced that its flagship PRTG product had been given a performance overhaul. Now, the networking monitoring solutions specialist Paessler AG announces the latest iteration of that product.
The new PRTG Network Monitor v9 features enhancements designed to make network monitoring easier and more flexible for SMBs. New features include:
- Web Interface — The newly redesigned interface features customizable view display and individual libraries for at-a-glance monitoring and drag-and-drop interactivity moving and cloning sensors.
- Enterprise Console — This new feature is specifically for larger installations, providing the ability to monitor multiple PRTG installations. It is ideal for MSPs or geographically dispersed operations.
- Active Directory Integration†– This broadens the user management features.
- IPv6 Support — Across all applicable sensor types, the support includes Packet Sniffer and the ability to use auto-discovery in IPv6 networks.
- Sensor Wizard — This tool makes it easier to manually add sensors and dedicated hardware sensors for selected vendors, like Dell, HP, APC, etc.
- PRTG Updates — Automatic download of PRTG updates ensures admins can easily install the latest release.
- New Sensor Types — For example, new sensor types include WMI Security Center, Registry, and refurbished Sensor Factory sensor types. A new QoS Round Trip Sensor provides users the ability to test the reliability of UDP communication over a network connection in both directions.
