“This vendor has a long history in storage, and has made a successful launch in hyper-convergence,” says Eric Hanselman, chief analyst with The 451 Group. Gridstore’s hyper-converged infrastructure is purpose-built for Windows—something that resellers well-versed with Microsoft SBS may appreciate. The infrastructure includes compute and storage functionality via an appliance; a Windows server; and all-flash, scalable storage nodes. The appliances work out of the box and reduce complexity by offering single-pane-of-glass management.
Of particular relevance to SMBs: Appliances from the Mountain View, Calif.-based vendor can be configured to support a range of Windows-based workloads, allowing resellers to provide solutions specific to clients’ needs and budgets. Jeff Kato, senior analyst with The Taneja Group Inc., says Gridstore is “a safe and cost-effective choice for smaller deployments.”
