Included on the agenda at the Global Cyber Summit was a Monday night fundraising event for the Acronis Cyber Foundation. Established last year to celebrate Acronis’s 15th anniversary, that organization’s mission is to build 15 schools in communities around the world too poor to do it themselves by 2021. The initiative has completed six schools already and has three more set to launch this year, including one in Guatemala that opens this Friday.
Why put so much energy into philanthropy? Why not, Beloussov answers.
“It’s a good thing to do,” he says. “It’s a very human thing to do, to help others, and it’s nice.”
It’s also personally rewarding. “I feel kind of guilty for doing it in some ways, because it’s fun,” Beloussov says.
