It’s not at all unusual for channel pros today to buy some things from SYNNEX and others from Tech Data. After the merger, they’ll have one less distributor relationship to juggle, Urban notes.
Eventually, when SYNNEX’s Stellr cloud marketplace and Tech Data’s StreamOne equivalent merge, partners will have one less cloud platform to deal with as well. “That’s a big advantage,” Urban says, noting that joint cloud partners have to jump back and forth across portals at present.
The same logic applies to all of the ordering and e-commerce tools SYNNEX and Tech Data resellers use at present. “It’s not two platforms anymore. It’s one,” Urban says.
