Nethercoat (pictured) points to application modernization as another area of opportunity, acknowledging, “it is not for the faint of heart.” But with a large amount of business applications still being run on-premises, it “is a massive opportunity for partners to work with ISVs to do a couple things. First, they could put those applications in containers and move them to the cloud and just get them off-prem and get them to a more cost-effective [platform]. … Then you can take the time to start to work through the application modernization.”
She adds, “Partners can build a really solid businesses around helping ISVs modernize their applications, move them into cloud, and massively open up the ecosystem for consumption. That would be a combination of a services play as well.”
