On Monday, Ingram rolled out a system called Partner Now that’s designed to help partners create, track, and manage orders with leading vendors—starting with Cisco—on a self-serve basis through a consolidated interface, as well as an automated license renewal management portal named RenewVue (pictured). Good news for anyone who likes the look of those tools: There are more such offerings on the way.
“We’re going to continue to make investments in tools,” Bay says. The goal, he continues, is to free up time partners can devote to strategic consulting with end users.
“We all as a connected ecosystem have got to go have a different conversation and allow our solution providers to be business partners to those end users,” Bay states. Systems like Partner Now and RenewVue promote that objective by boosting partner productivity.
Spearheading Ingram’s tools effort is Tom Peck, who became the distributor’s chief information and digital officer earlier this year. In his dual role as CIO and CDO, Peck is charged with helping both Ingram itself and its partners achieve agility through automation. Country chiefs like Robinson play a direct role in shaping what he does and how he does it, based on input from partners in the field.
“Kirk and the business leaders within the organization actually have business leader representation that sits within [Peck’s] direct staff,” Bay says.
